Amidst tight security, the Adivasi Gothra Maha Sabha (AGMS) observed the 10th anniversary of the Muthanga agitation and Jogi commemoration day on Tuesday with various programmes.

Speaking after offering tributes at the martyr’s column at Thakarappadi here, AGMS chairperson C.K. Janu said the organisation would intensify the land struggle for the landless tribesmen in the State. Ms. Janu said the land struggle by erecting huts on forestland would be intensified as the government was yet to keep its word on providing land to the landless tribespeople.

The Muthanga agitation was a success as it could draw the attention of the ruling class on issues faced by the tribesmen, she said.
