: Minister for Health and Devaswom V.S. Sivakumar on Friday inaugurated a police control room for the ‘Sabarimala Edathavalam’ at Attukal.

The Minister also flagged off KSRTC bus services from Attukal to Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple and back.

Mr. Sivakumar said the government had sanctioned Rs.55 lakh for the ‘Edathavalam’, envisaging Rs.45 lakh for posting 200 special policemen for two months to the Edathavalam and Rs.10 lakh to the District Collector in order to arrange basic infrastructure, including drinking water and power supply.

Parking facilities had been arranged at the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple grounds for devotees. Bus services to and from Attukal to the temple would operate round the clock.
