MALAPPURAM: MES Mampad College hosted a national seminar on probing alternative media space on Monday and Tuesday.

The seminar, sponsored by the University Grants Commission, discussed a variety of topics such as alternative space in current criticism, Internet as an alternative media space, reader in cinema, violation of private spaces and women resistance as reflected in films and literature.

T.P. Rajeevan, writer, inaugurated the seminar. O.P. Abdurahman, MES Mampad College Principal, presided over the function.

A. Mohammed, MES State treasurer, and E.P. Moyinkutty, MES college central committee chairman, spoke. A.P. Rayeez Mohammed, head of the Department of English, welcomed the gathering. Rupesh Kumar, seminar convener, proposed a vote of thanks.
