In an effort to put to rest the uncertainty over the massive flight cancellations by Air India Express in the Kerala region, the National Aviation Company of India Limited (NACIL) on Tuesday said it would maintain the same frequency of flights which were reinstated in September.

A release issued by the corporate communication department of Air India said the winter schedule of Air India Express had become operational from October 30, and the reinstated schedule would continue till the end of the winter schedule.

The recent news articles regarding mass cancellations was causing confusion among the travellers, which was evident from the number of telephone enquiries that the airline had been receiving on a daily basis, it added.

Air India Express had cancelled a few services in the start of September due critical shortage of cabin crew. On an instruction by the airline's CMD, majority of these flights were reinstated within a week although the demand for seats were very low, said the statement.
