KOLLAM: The All-India Bank Employees' Association (AIBEA) will fund the construction of a building to house the Ayurveda hospital in tsunami-hit Alapad.

The building, to be constructed at a cost of Rs.20 lakh, is part of AIBEA's Rs.1-crore rehabilitation programme in the tsunami-hit areas of the country.

The building will come up at Shrayikad. The old Ayurveda hospital building was devastated in the tsunami, said AIBEA district secretary M.M. Ansari in a statement here.

The stone for the building would be laid by Minister for Food and Civil Supplies C. Divakaran at a function at Shrayikad at 3 p.m. on Sunday.

AIBEA State president K. Chandrashekaran Nair would preside.
