The Revolutionary Youth Front (RYF) has alleged that the agitation staged by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha in the name of vehicle parking fee at the Pampa parking grounds was politically motivated.

In a statement issued here on Monday, RYF State secretary Saleem P. Chacko said the meeting of the leaders of various political parties, including Bharatiya Janata Party, convened by the District Collector a week ago had unanimously decided not to observe any hartal, strike or agitation in the district during the two-month long Mandalam-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season that began on November 16.

Mr. Chacko said the parties concerned should desist themselves from making Sabarimala a venue for agitation.

The RYF leader called for a comprehensive inquiry into the alleged corruption involved in the auctioning of the right to collect parking fee during the Mandalam-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season.

The RYF leader also called upon the State government as well as the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation authorities to withdraw the special fare introduced in the Sabarimala special bus services with immediate effect.
