Youth Congress men damage furniture, tear up documents
KOLLAM: The office of the Assistant Education Officer (AEO) at Kundara was vandalised by some Youth Congress activists on Tuesday evening.
The police said that eight Youth Congress activists were involved in the attack. The AEO office is at Elampallur.
According to the police, the activists arrived in four bikes and barged into the AEO office raising slogans. They then damaged furniture, grabbed files, tore up documents and scattered them all over the office. The gang then rushed out of the office and fled on their bikes.
Police said that the attack lasted less than five minutes. They apparently raised slogans demanding withdrawal of the controversial Class VII textbook and immediate government intervention to save the life of the Youth Congress State president, T. Siddique, who is on an indefinite fast in front of the Secretariat.
The Kundara police have registered a case.
