KOZHIKODE: Indian National League (INL) State general secretary P.M.A. Salam, MLA, on Tuesday said the Asian Development Bank (ADB) loan for urban development could be accepted if it came without any conditions detrimental to the interests of the State.

"The party had discussed with LDF representatives the ADB loan issue and the latter told us that as far as possible the conditions of acceptance would not be detrimental to the people of the State. However, what we want is that the loan should come without any conditions. We cannot accept a loan that will not protect interests of Kerala," he said.

However, funds may have to be borrowed from abroad for the development of the State and this was a necessary eventuality, he added.

Mr. Salam flayed the tendency of constituents of the ruling front to air grievances publicly.
