THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister V. S. Achuthanandan has refuted former Agriculture Minister K. R. Gouri's allegation that he had approached her three years ago soliciting her support to topple the UDF Government headed by A. K. Antony.

Mrs. Gouri had also alleged, in an interview given to a Malayalam periodical, that the CPI(M) had offered her party, a sum of Rs.2 crore for the operation.

In a press release here on Monday, Mr. Achuthanandan said Mrs. Gouri's allegations were "pure nonsense."
