The Kerala Police will send a four-member team to escort a man, who tried to forcibly enter the Mumbai headquarters of the Reserve Bank of India, to Kottayam. He is wanted in a cheating case registered at Ponkunam Police Station in the district.

Padmagireeshan Rajasekharan Nair (27) of Chamampathal is in the custody of Mumbai police on charge of attacking the RBI headquarters on Tuesday evening.

According to Ponkunnam Circle Inspector of Police P. Rajkumar, Padmagireeshan was employed at the office of a lottery agent in Mumbai. He has been absconding since March 19 when he was sent by his boss to Pathanamtitta to remit Rs.3.5 lakh at the District Lottery Office. Two days later, his mother filed a man missing case.

The police launched a hunt for him and tracked his cellphone. They were later informed by the Intelligence Bureau that Padmagireeshan was arrested in Mumbai on Tuesday.

The police said his mother had received a message from him saying that he would return home as a multi-millionaire. Police sources claim Padmagireeshan is undergoing psychiatric treatment.
