KOCHI: It is once again anniversary time for one of the State's unique healthcare experiments. Thrikkakara Grama Panchayat Cooperative Hospital will celebrate its seventh anniversary with a variety of programmes on June 17 and 18.

Fittingly, the People's Plan experiment, launched in June 1999, enters the eighth year of its existence by inaugurating an inpatient facility for Ayurvedic treatment, in collaboration with SNA Ayurveda Panchakarma Chikitsalaya.

.

President of the hospital M.M. Abbas said it had been able to grow rapidly over the years.

The Ayurveda inpatient facility and a new optical shop, as part of the eye-care section of the hospital, will be inaugurated by Minister for Fisheries S. Sarma on June 17. A free Ayurvedic medical camp will be organised on June 18. There will also be a medical camp for children and women on the same day. The Ayurvedic medical camp is especially aimed at those having rheumatic troubles.
