For the past four years Pankaj Udhas, one of India’s most popular ghazal singers, has been organising a ghazal festival in Mumbai. Titled ‘Khazana,’ the festival features many leading ghazal singers in the country.

This year’s programme will be held at Hotel Oberoi on July 27 and 28. Jitesh Sundaram is delighted that he will be performing at the show.

“I am the only Malayali who will be singing at the festival,” Jitesh told reporters in Kozhikode on Friday.

“It is a big honour and I was pleasantly surprised when I was included in the programme by Pankaj Udhas. I am looking forward to the show,” says Jitesh, a disciple of Anup Jalota.

Among the singers to grace the occasion are Pankaj Udhas, Talat Aziz, Bhupinder and Mitali Singh, Anup Jalota, Chandan Das and Peenaz Masani. “The proceeds of the festival will be used for helping cancer patients,” adds Jitesh, who hails from Thalassery.
