PATHANAMTHITTA: It was a field day for children at the Believers’ Church Residential School at Kuttappuzha near Thiruvalla on Wednesday.

For once, the students could don the role of the principal and teachers. School head-girl Remya Mariyam Thomas was chosen to don the role of principal while head-boy Rony Paul Koshy donned the higher secondary co-ordinator’s garb at the mock session. Children of 10th and 12th classes managed all classes, from KG to 12, till 1 pm. “It took several days to train and organise the programme. The 106-member teaching faculty took good efforts to make it a success,” said Principal Santha Mathai.

Students conducted the morning assembly. Apart from routine speeches, cultural programmes too were held to mark the special occasion. Addressing the assembly, the head-girl said, “a good teacher is like a candle, it consumes itself to light the way for others.” As for teachers, it was an occasion to unwind and get pampered by their students.
