KOCHI: For children, who were impressed by Hrithik Roshan in the Bollywood flick ‘Lakshya', where the character played by him scaled the Himalayas to defeat the enemies, this is a chance to step into his shoes. The Rock Climbing is one of the nine new adventures that await them at the ongoing carnival, Kid's Planet, at Marine Drive grounds.

Children are making the most out of their vacation, as they try out obstacle cycling, spider web, commando bridge, rope walking or earth walk. “We have brought these to the fair at ticket rates much lower than what is usual, as we wanted the kids to get a feel of the adventure sports,” said Senthil Kumar of Kestrel Adventures, who is handling the adventure sports part of the event.

Adventure is not all that kids can look forward inside the fair. They can just keep hopping around on the Trampoline or try their skills at dart board or spice up their appearances with tattoos. It's a kid's world out there, with a trade fair for parents.

The favourite for children, it seems, is the snow splash. “This is being done in the State for the first time, making the fair unique in all respects,” said Thomson of Pax Events, the organiser. The air-conditioned dome is filled with crushed ice over which children dance to flickering lights and loud music. The spirit of adventure will be heightened as quad bikes also join the fair. The bikes, which are already there at the fair, will be open to children to try out in these days. The organisers top up the excitement with an audio-visual session on nature.

The evenings will have a slide show on the theme of nature conservation and familiarising children to various aspects of nature exploration.

The fair will start from 3 p.m. and go on till 9 p.m. every day. The fair will end on Sunday.
