Kozhikode placed second after Thrissur in pass percentage
The district registered a pass percentage of 88.67 in the higher secondary school (HSS) examinations, the results of which were announced on Friday. The pass percentage in the district was also higher than the State average of 82.25. Kozhikode came second in the list of districts, behind Thrissur, in pass percentage. The pass percentage in Thrissur district was 88.93.
As many as 21,663 out of the 24,430 students who appeared for the examinations from 134 higher secondary schools passed, with 323 students getting A+ grade in all subjects. The number was 139 last year.
This year 1,358 students secured A grade; 2,765 students B plus grade, and 4,570 students B grade. Four schools in the district achieved 100 per cent pass. These are St. Joseph's Anglo Indian Girls Higher Secondary School (151 students); Chevayur Presentation Higher Secondary School (147); Silver Hills Higher Secondary School (93) and Hidayathul Islam Higher Secondary School (151).
In the technical school category, the pass percentage recorded was 69.51. Out of the 164 students who appeared for the examinations 114 passed. In the open school category, the pass percentage was 43.98, with 5,268 out of the 11,979 who appeared for the examinations clearing them. However, none got A+ in the technical school and open school categories in the district. Two students in the technical school and four students in open school category received A grades.
