The district has registered 86.28 per cent pass in the higher secondary examinations. This was an increase from the 80.73 per cent recorded last year.

Out of the 27,340 students who appeared for the examinations in 175 schools in the district, 23,590 have become eligible for higher studies.

As in the last year, the district again topped the State in terms of the most number of students with A+ in all subjects. The district has 373 students who achieved the feat as against 209 last year.

Seven higher secondary schools in the district recorded cent per cent success rate. Ernakulam Government Girls' Higher Secondary School had the most number of students appearing for the examinations from the district. Out of 416 students from the school, 379 passed. Lobelia Higher Secondary School had the least number of students, with seven out of the 13 students becoming eligible for higher studies.

TD Higher Secondary School, Mattancherry, had the lowest pass rate at 24.56 per cent. Here, 14 out of the 59 cleared the examinations.

While 24 schools in the district recorded more than 95 per cent pass, in eight schools it was less than 50 per cent.
