The Kannur University Arts Festival will begin here on Friday with around 5,000 students showcasing their literary and artistic talents during the five-day fete.

Nearly 120 events will be held at six venues on the Nithyananda Engineering College premises. The organisers have made elaborate arrangements for the festival.

The first two days will be dedicated to 63 off-stage events under the title ‘Chitra Sahitya Matsaram.’ T. Padmanabhan, writer, will inaugurate the off-stage events at 9.30 a.m. on Friday.

The valedictory of the events will be inaugurated by K. Kunhiraman, MLA, on Saturday evening.

The stage events with 57 competitions will be inaugurated by P. Karunakaran, MP, on Sunday. Sanusha, actor, will be the chief guest.

The venues of various programmes are the helipad ground, Nithyananda School, hostel building, polytechnic institute auditorium, E.C. Hall, and polytechnic ground.
