KOTTAYAM: The survey conducted by RECCAANIT ( Regional Engineering College, Calicut Alumni Association-NIT) Cochin chapter to bring out a rating of engineering colleges in Kerala has rated five engineering colleges, two in the government and government-aided sector and three in the self financing sector as excellent. The rating was limited to colleges where selection is done on the basis of the rank in the Kerala Common Engineering Entrance test.
The government engineering colleges which have been rated excellent are College of Engineering Thiruvananthapuram and Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Pampady. Those in the self-financing sector are Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology, SCMS School of Engineering and Technology and TocH Institute of Science and Technology, all from Ernakulam.
Out of the 85 colleges, 42 cooperated with the survey.
