PALAKKAD: District Collector B. Suman has said that 3,518 persons will be given pattayam and possession certificates in the `Pattaya Mela' to be inaugurated by Minister for Revenue K.P. Rajendran at Town Hall here on Saturday.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday the Collector said that 156 tribal persons will be given possession certificates for the forest land where they are living before 1980. In addition to that 95 tribal persons and 278 persons belonging to Scheduled Caste community will be given surplus land. The Collector said that steps will be taken to stop the unauthorised boating in Malampuzha reservoir, which is used for supplying drinking water.
