The district administration has, so far, received 18,480 petitions for the Chief Minister’s mass contact programme scheduled to be held here on November 11. District Collector K. Ramachandran said a screening committee meeting on the programme would be held at Collectorate conference hall on October 28. It would be presided over by Minister for Tourism A.P. Anil Kumar. The Collector said that of the total 18,480 petitions received, 12,548 were for converting APL cards to BPL cards, and 1,523 for seeking financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s relief fund. — Staff Reporter
