KOCHI: As many as 171 persons were booked and Rs. 32,200 was realised as fine for various offences during a special drive by the Railway Protection Force. The 24-hour drive led by Circle Inspector K.P. James and sub-inspector Roy Mathai, Shanmughan and P.K. Raju was done in all trains operating in Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Kottayam sections. Among the cases registered, 62 were for unauthorised vending on railway premises, 19 for causing nuisance to passengers, 32 for parking vehicles in no parking zones, 25 for footboard travel, three for smoking inside railway premises, 17 for unauthorised entry into railway premises and 10 for other charges.
