At least 11 people were injured, one of them seriously, when a KSRTC superfast collided head on with a lorry on National Highway 47 at Kannukali bridge near Karuvatta in the district on Friday morning.

Police said that the driver of the lorry who sustained serious injuries was admitted to the Alappuzha medical college hospital. The other injured were admitted to the Haripad taluk hospital. The bus was going from Cherthala towards Thiruvananthapuram, while the lorry carrying a fibre fishing boat was proceeding from Vadi beach in Neendakara in Kollam towards Alappuzha in the opposite direction.
