ALAPPUZHA: Ten people were injured, three of them critically, when a misfire occurred during a pyrotechnic display organised in connection with a temple ritual at Aroor here on Sunday night. A woman and two young girls are among those injured when a rocket, intended for the skies, took a different direction and shocked the crowd by zooming into their midst around 6.30 p.m. during the ‘Kavadi’ procession near the Changara UP School, held in connection with the festival at the Ezhupunna temple near Aroor.

Three persons, Jyothis, Unni and Kannan, were said to have suffered serious burn.
