Over 3,000 youths from throughout the State are expected to participate in the annual two-day 16th “Yuva Mahotsava” (youth festival) to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Digambar Kamat on January 15 at GVM's Matoshri Indirabai Baburao Andeparkar (MIBK) High School Ground at Khandepar, Ponda in Central Goa at 9.30 a.m.

The highlight of the two-day Yuva Mahotsav will be the participation of over 3,000 youth from 60 colleges and 30 cultural groups from Goa. The festival was held in Bicholim in north Goa last year.

“The Yuva Mahotsav aims at involving the youth in keeping age-old cultural traditions alive, personality development of youth, foster unity and brotherhood, promote organisational skills and provide a platform to youth to exhibit their talent,” said a spokesman of the Konkani Bhasha Mandal here on Thursday. Surel Tilve, Working Committee President, said the work of all the three pandals, including the main stage, had been completed.
