‘Youth should be well groomed’

HASSAN: Youth play a vital role in the development of a country and they must be properly groomed, said Deputy Commissioner Naveen Raj Singh here on Monday.

Inaugurating a seven-day National Integration Camp at the Nehru Youth Centre, Mr. Singh said India was known for its pluralistic culture where people from all religions and cultures lived in harmony.


The camp was organised by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the district administration. In her welcome address, district youth coordinator (Chitradurga) B.T. Kumuda Naik said such camps were being held in 50 places all over the country.

In Karnataka it was being held only in Hassan and Karwar. For the Hassan camp, 25 youths each from Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu were participating.

Editor, Janata Madhyama, R.P. Venkatesh Murthy, and freedom fighter Shivanna spoke. District Youth Coordinator of Hassan M.N. Nataraj proposed a vote of thanks.
