The Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress (KPYC) will take out a protest rally on Saturday demanding the dissolution of the State Assembly, saying it is unable to address the problems being faced by the people.

Addressing presspersons, Rizwan Arshad, president of the KPYC, said that the rally would commence from Freedom Park and culminate near the official residence of the Chief Minister. “’Perform or quit’ is the slogan of the rally,” he added.

The BJP government has failed on all fronts and is being buffeted by political instability, with the former Chief Minister, B.S. Yeddyurappa, “tormenting” the government.

He alleged that the government could not implement the programmes announced in the budget because of political instability. Funds released by the Centre under various schemes had not been utilised. Not only that, the government had failed in handling the flood and drought situations in the State, he alleged.

The BJP claims that it had accomplished what the Congress could not achieve in sixty years. Of course it was right, said Mr. Arshad. The Congress did not torment minority communities, women, farmers and the common people in the way the BJP government has.

“The majority of the Ministers are facing corruption charges,” he said.
