Power is set to get costlier “soon”, Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (Bescom) managing director P. Manivannan admitted.

He was speaking at an event organised by the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) here on Saturday.

“In the last five years, we have doubled our total supply of energy in the State. In future, the tariff is going to increase because of shortage of resources. If your monthly bill is Rs.1,000 now, it might go up to Rs. 3,000 soon. So save as much power as possible,” Mr. Manivannan said.
