The former Chief Minister and Karnataka Janata Paksha president B.S. Yeddyurappa, who is already annoyed by the government’s indifference towards his Satyagraha demanding Shaadi Bhagya scheme for all communities, is peeved by the downgrading of his security.

According to KJP sources, Mr. Yeddyurappa, who was given ‘Z plus’ security when he was Chief Minister, feels that the government has downgraded his security after he launched a fierce attack against it on the Shaadi Bhagya scheme and denial of ration to above poverty line cardholders.

He is reportedly upset that there has been almost no police presence at the Satyagraha venue even as hundreds of party cadres and sympathisers are taking part in it. Except three armed personnel guarding him, there is no police bandobast at the venue, party sources said. Personal security for Mr. Yeddyurappa continues to be ‘Z’ category which is made available to all former Chief Minsters. ‘Z plus’ security is provided to only the Chief Minister and Governor, officials clarified.

Home Minister K.J. George told The Hindu that providing personal security to the former Chief Minister comes under the purview of the Chief Minister, who also holds the intelligence portfolio.
