The former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa was admitted to Sagar Hospital on Sunday for severe throat infection and low sodium level.
Jagadish Chandra, consultant physician at the hospital, said Mr. Yeddyurappa had severe cough and was unable to speak properly.
He also had fever till Monday morning, but that had come down now.
“He had a mild cough when he was leaving for Bellary for campaigning.
“It worsened after his hectic schedule in Bellary and doctors who examined him there informed me about the severity,”

He said Mr. Yeddyurappa needed complete rest and may have to stay in the hospital for at least four more days.
