Several women advocates on Thursday alleged that the police had threatened them and misbehaved with them during the violence at the City Civil Court complex on March 2.

A delegation of women lawyers, led by Senior Counsel Pramila Nesargi, also met Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court and demanded that appropriate action should be taken against the police for assaulting lawyers and misbehaving with women members of the Bar.

Later, addressing senior lawyers practising in the High Court, many women lawyers explained the difficulties faced by them during the violence. They sought support for their agitation and to secure justice for the hardship they faced on that day at the hands of the police and the media.

A large number of them accused television channels of defaming the entire fraternity of lawyers when the attack on media persons was only by a few black sheep.
