11 persons received their Ph.D. degrees

A majority of the achievers are employed

MYSORE: Women dominated the list of gold medal and cash prizes presented at the 10th annual convocation of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) here on Thursday.

The winners include Gayathri K.N. (two medals and two cash prizes in MA-Kannada), Madhulika (MA-English), Shwetha (MA-Hindi), Shivaprasad P.M. (MBA) and Nagaraja Bhat (MA-Sanskrit).

A majority of the medal winners and those who received degrees at the convocation are job holders. “In spite of their professional commitment, they have excelled in their academic pursuits, which is a matter of pride,” said a family member of a medal winner.

This year, 11 persons received their Ph. D. degrees from Governor H.R. Bhardwaj, Chancellor of the university.

Three doctoral degrees were in Kannada and Political Science, two in Education and History, and one in Business Administration.
