He had sought property documents, says victim’s mother in her complaint

A 26-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself to death in her house at Sadashivanagar here on Wednesday. The police gave her name as Sweety Marlin.

Her mother, Jenny Franklin, has filed a complaint with the Tilak Park police station.

She has alleged that Bhargav, a cameraman with a private news channel here, was responsible for her death. She has said that her daughter was in love with Bhargav for the past six years and she was working at an internet centre at K.R. Extension owned by Bhargav for the past four years.

She has, in her complaint, said that Bhargav had pledged Sweety Marlin’s marks cards with a bank and had taken a loan in her daughter’s name. She said that the amount had been used by Bhargav.

Ms. Jenny Franklin said that he had forced Sweety Marlin to bring gold ornaments valued at Rs. 13 lakh from their house and had them sold and had taken the money for himself. She has alleged that he had taken a loan of Rs. 20 lakh in her daughter’s name and bought a four-wheeler which he was using.

Ms. Jenny Franklin said that when, a few days ago, she advised him not to waste money like this, he assaulted Sweety Marlin and threatened them.

Now, he was forcing Sweety Marlin to bring documents of their house for selling it and when Sweety Marlin refused, he abused her.

Ms. Jenny Franklin has alleged that Bhargav was directly responsible for her daughter’s suicide in the complaint. The police are on the look-out for Bhargav.
