D.K. Sidram, Karnataka Janata Paksha candidate, has said that he will set up a sugar factory in Bhalki taluk in one or two years.

He told presspersons here on Thursday that the Mahatma Gandhi Sahakari Sakkare Karkhane (MGSSK) in Bhalki had been “ill-treating” sugarcane farmers. “To put an end to this, I will open a sugar factory,” he said.

He alleged that MGSSK authorities were discriminating against farmers who had supported KJP’s padayatra in Bhalki taluk.

He also alleged that Ishwar Khandre, MLA, and Prakash Khandre, the former MLA, were lying about their contribution to the development of the taluk
