Karnataka Janata Paksha (KJP) president B.S. Yeddyurappa said on Thursday that he would never return to the Bharatiya Janata Party. “I don’t want to recall my days in the BJP. It is a closed chapter for me. I will never go back to that party for the rest of my life,” he said.

“I am a new person altogether; I have just taken over the reins of a regional party. Therefore, I do not want to keep any relationship with the BJP,”

Mr. Yeddyurappa told presspersons. Asked if he would keep ties with the Sangh Parivar, he said: “No. I am leading a new political front with my own principles and ideology.”

Mr. Yeddyurappa announced that he would launch a Statewide tour from Basavakalyan by the end of the month. Mr. Yeddyurappa said he was in touch with over 100 eminent personalities and thinkers, including literary personalities, industrialists and progressive voices, who have reportedly offered him support on his new political journey.
