They made mouth-watering dishes at ‘Phagocytosis: Food Fiesta'

It was a different sight at BVB College of Engineering and Technology in Hubli on Monday, a regular venue for technical workshops and exhibitions.

Students donned the role of chefs and produced some mouth-watering delicacies.

Event

The event was “Phagocytosis: Food Fiesta” organised by the Department of Biotechnology of the college.

The students of the department tried their hands at cooking and served several dishes in 20 stalls set up for the purpose.

Ingredients

The participating students, who brought the ingredients required for their dishes, took some time to bake and cook.

Subsequently, they presented their dishes, decorating them with carved vegetables.

Testing

Unlike cookery competition, they had people other than judges to taste their dishes as the event was a mix of testing their cooking as well as managerial skills.

After chef Pradeep from Clarks Inn and chef Mohan from Hotel Naveen tasted the dishes and announced their judgment, the participants put to practice their managerial skills to sell the dishes prepared by them.

Around 300 people, including college students, visited the stalls and enjoyed the mouth-watering delicacies.
