Freedom Park is a favourite spot to hold protests, given its location in the heart of the city and easy accessibility. Often, thousands of people gather here to stage demonstrations. These protesters leave behind a tell-tale trail of used disposable plates and plastic cups that are littered across the verdant space.

Even as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was exhorting citizens to join hands with the BBMP to segregate waste generated in their homes, several pourakarmikas were clearing up the premises just a few yards from the main stage.

A few were also spotted having their food sitting around the used plates pile.
