A.H. Vishwanath, MP, has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party Government of widespread corruption.

Speaking to presspersons here on Saturday, Mr. Vishwanath said: “Operation Lotus, corruption and nepotism are the achievements of the B.S. Yeddyurappa Government in the last three years.” The image of the State had sunk to a new low, he claimed.

The MP accused the Government of neglecting core areas of development, such as irrigation, industries and education. People of the State were facing drinking water shortage and the Government had failed to constitute a permanent commission for backward classes, he said.

On the controversies surrounding Governor H.R. Bhardwaj, Mr. Vishwanath said the Governor was duty bound to apprise the President of the affairs of the State. The MP also defended the advisory sent to the Government by the Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram.

The Mysore MP was also critical of the style of functioning of the two BJP Ministers from Mysore. He assured them of his cooperation to bring in development to the district.
