BANGALORE: C.M. Ibrahim, All-India Progressive Janata Dal president and former Union Minister, has demanded a judicial inquiry into the reasons for violence in Bangalore in the aftermath of the death of the veteran actor Rajkumar.

Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, he alleged that the poor handling of the situation by the Government during Dr. Rajkumar's funeral at Sri Kanteerava Studios led to large-scale violence. The authorities had not prepared a plan to control the crowd, he said.

The AIPJD will hold a convention of farmers at Palace Grounds here on April 25, Mr. Ibrahim said. The former Prime Minister V.P. Singh and the former Union Minister Ajit Singh will participate in the meeting, he added.
