MANGALORE: The Mangalore South (Pandeshwar) police on Wednesday stopped Anwar Hussain, resident of Shanthinagara, Deralakatte near here, when he was moving suspiciously on a motorcycle at Jeppu.

The accused reportedly confessed during interrogation that he had stolen the motorcycle. Police have seized the vehicle and taken Hussain into custody. A case has been registered at Mangalore South (Pandeshwar) Police Station.

Transformers stolen

Two transformers belonging to Mangalore division of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation have been reportedly stolen from the KSRTC bus station at Bejai here on Wednesday.

According to a complaint lodged with Barke (Gandhinagar) police, unidentified persons took away the transformers from the office room by breaking open the lock. The value of the stolen transformers has been estimated at Rs. 20,000.

A case has been registered for further investigation.
