Activists of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, on Friday evening, called off their indefinite fast following the assurance given by Kannada Development Authority chairman Mukhyamantri Chandru that he will place their demands before the Government.

Vedike activists accepted lemon juice offered by Mr. Chandru and called off their fast. They were fasting since Sunday demanding disqualification of Mayor of Belgaum Manda Balekundri, Deputy Mayor Renu Killekar and the former Mayor Sambhaji Patil. — Staff Correspondent
