BANGALORE: Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha headed by Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj has decided to jump into the electoral arena in the Lok Sabha elections.
Mr. Nagaraj told presspersons here on Tuesday that the party would explore the possibility of entering into a seat-sharing understanding with either the Janata Dal (Secular) or the Congress before fielding candidates in certain Lok Sabha constituencies independently.
Mr. Nagaraj said he would approach the BJP with the same proposal, but expressed scepticism over the response of the saffron party leaders, who were “flying high” after the party came to power in the State.
Mr. Nagaraj claimed that he had come to the rescue of Janata Dal (Secular) and the Congress on earlier occasions and the time had come for the parties to return favours to him.
Mr. Nagaraj said his party preferred to contest seats in the border areas.
He criticised the Suresh Angadi’s act of trying to hoist the saffron flag atop Belgaum City Corporation building.
