Yielding to the demand of students of University of Visvesvaraya College of Engineering to postpone the end semester examinations for first, second and third years, Bangalore University has put off the exams by two weeks. They will now start on July 8. The students had said that owing to a delay in the announcement of the odd semester results, they were unprepared for these exams, which were to begin on June 24. Vice-Chancellor B. Thimme Gowda, on receiving the memorandum from nearly 500 students, called a meeting of all heads of departments on Tuesday, where the decision was taken.
