The Karnataka Janapada Parishat and the Male Madeshwara Swami Administration Committee will jointly organise the Malemadeshwara Samskrutika Utsav on January 25 at Malemadeshwara temple in Kollegal taluk of Chamarajanagar district.

The festival is aimed at promoting the “Malemadeshwara Padagalu” (verses of Malemadeshwara) and “Beesu Kamsale” form of folk culture. Karnataka Janapada Parishat and Janapada Loka chairman T. Thimme Gowda said, Devara Gudda, a tribal troupe, has devoted itself to popularise Malemadeshwara Padagalu. Of late, youth from rural areas are showing interest in these cultural forms. So, contest will be held at the festival, he added.
