Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) Dharwad president Meer Mahmood Inamdar has urged the State government to award the Rajyotsava award to 10 members of the Muslim community. In a letter written to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, he said that looking at the list of Rajyotsava awardees since the inception of the award, there had been injustice to members from minorities, backward classes and Dalit communities, considering their contributions in various fields. A number of Muslims who have rendered worthwhile service in various fields have been denied the award, the letter said. — Staff Correspondent
