Major trade unions in Goa will hold demonstrations, protests and rallies on Wednesday to oppose the anti-people and anti-working class policies of the Central and State Governments.
Demonstrations in south Goa will be held in Margao and in Panaji for north Goa.
The call for the strike has been given by all major trade unions united under the banner of National Convention of Workers (NCW), convenor of Goa Convention of Workers (GCW) told presspersons in the city on Saturday.
The trade unions are demanding fair minimum wages, abolition of contract labour system, and credible and adequate social security measures. Advocate Naik said GCW will press for 10 demands which will include fixing statutory minimum wages of Rs. 10,000 for unskilled workers linked to Dearness Allowance.
