Sorake says town will get the funds under Kudcemp second phase

Vinay Kumar Sorake, Urban Development Minister, has said that Rs. 90 crore have been set aside for providing drinking water and underground drainage system under the second phase of Karnataka Urban Development Coastal Environment Management Project.

He was speaking at the inaugural function of the Udupi hobli-level Janaspandana mass contact programme organised by the district administration here.

Mr. Sorake said Rs. 128 crore was spent on the development of Udupi town under the first phase of Kudcemp. Rs. 2 crore has been allocated for the construction of footpaths on either side of concrete roads in Udupi under funds from the State Finance Commission. The government had allocated Rs. 525 crore for the development of Mangalore, Udupi, Kundapur, and Puttur towns under the second phase of Kudcemp.
