N. Udupa, Principal of Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS) and Research Director of Health Sciences, Manipal University, was the recipient of three awards in 2012.

According to a release by the Manipal University here on Monday, each one of the award does credit for the outstanding work he is doing research in pharmaceutical sciences.

He received the prestigious Schroff Memorial National Award for his contribution as a scientist and drug researcher from A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the former President during the 64th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress held at Chennai in December, 2012. This award was instituted by the Indian Hospital Pharmacists Association (IHPA).

Dr. Udupa was awarded the Acharya P.C. Ray Gold Medal for his achievement and service to the profession of pharmacy by the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) in November, 2012. This honour was bestowed on him for his immense contribution in the field of pharmaceutical sciences over last three-and-a-half decade.

He was honoured with the Prof. C. J. Shishoo Award for his efforts and dedication towards research in pharmaceutical sciences. The award was instituted by Prof. C.J. Shishoo and Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India and he received it in Manipal in October, 2012.
