A two-day workshop on history will be held under the aegis of Kuvempu University History teachers' association at Sahyadri Arts and Commerce College here n May 13 and 14.

Sahyadri College Principal B.S. Mahadevaiah told presspersons here on Wednesday that the workshop was an effort to study the historical relevance of the social, political, and economic developments that the world had witnessed in recent times.

Kuvempu University Vice-Chancellor S.A. Bari would inaugurate the workshop on May 13 at 10 a.m..

Prof. Mahadevaiah, Y.H. Nagaraj, G. Sarvamangala, K.S. Sadananda Hegde, and K.N. Manjunath would take part in the inaugural ceremony.

Papers would be presented on issues such as global warming, cultural crises, the unrest in Egypt and Libya, the relationship between India, Pakistan, China and the relevance of “Panchasheel”, social security, and plundering of natural resources in post-Independent India, he said.

Shambhulingamurthy, K.N. Manjunath, and Somashekhar were present.
