Nagaraj, a 52-year-old construction labourer hailing from Raichur, was knocked down by a speeding motorbike on Friday afternoon when he was trying to cross the road in front of Shobha Apartments in Kempapura.

The victim, who was in the city in search of work, suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to NIMHANS where he died early on Sunday.

Hebbal Traffic police said that the biker abandoned his vehicle on the spot and fled. Efforts are on to nab him.

In a similar incident, Papanna (50), also a construction labourer, was run over by a van when he was trying to cross the Hosur Road late on Friday. According to the police, Papanna was returning to his home town, Tumkur, for Deepawali when the accident occurred. The driver of the van fled the spot and the police are on the lookout for him.

Run over by train

Mohan Sundaram (23) a cab driver was killed when a train rammed his vehicle at the Channasandra Railway Gate on Saturday evening. Byappanahalli Railway Police, who have registered a case, claimed that Mr. Sundaram was listening to music on his mobile when he was crossing the railway line.
