Nazarabad police have cracked a burglary case in which Rs. 54.47 lakh was stolen from the office of a poultry firm in Alanahalli in the early hours of January 28.

The police arrested K.V. Dhanraj, the prime accused, who is a bird catcher at the poultry farm, and his brother Purushottam on Thursday and recovered the cash.

Dhanraj is from Kamarasanahalli in Hoskote taluk of Bangalore Rural district.

Dhanraj told the police that he entered the office using duplicate keys.

He accessed the keys of the almirah and took away the cash.

In a press release, the police said Dhanraj sent the money to his village through his brother Purushottam, who buried the cash in a 3-ft pit after wrapping it in a plastic cover.

The poultry firm has announced a reward of Rs. 2 lakh for the investigation team.
